On
August 28, 2019, the Vietnamese Embassy in India collaborated with VFS Global
to organize a Tourism Promotion Conference to Vietnam (Vietnam Tourism
Promotion Roadshow). This is the largest tourism promotion activity in 2019
organized by the Embassy in India.
Attending the Conference were leaders of the Tourism Association and nearly 200 Indian travel, hotel and aviation businesses. Nearly 30 delegates, representatives of nearly 15 major travel companies and hotels of Vietnam, also attended the tourist promotion event.
Speaking at the Conference, Ambassador Pham Sanh Chau affirmed that tourism and people-to-people exchange is one of the pillars of the Vietnam-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, contributing to the enhancement of knowledge and mutual trust between the two countries. The Ambassador also presented about the potentials and advantages of Vietnam tourism in fields ranging from resort tourism, seminars, golf, medical treatment, filming, wedding destination; policies to encourage and facilitate tourism development of the Vietnamese Government; initiatives and solutions to promote tourism and people-to-people exchanges.
On this occasion, the Ambassador announced 02
direct flights including routes of IndiGo Airlines of Kolkata - Hanoi and Ho
Chi Minh City starting from October 3, 2019; and direct flight of VietJet Air
with Ho Chi Minh City - Delhi route from December 6, 2019 and Hanoi - Delhi
route from December 7, 2019. The Ambassador believed that, with the long-standing tradition, the similarity of cultural values such as Cham
culture in the Central region of the South of Viet Nam and the spirituality of
Buddhism, the direct flight route would be the effective solution to connect not
only people – to - people, tourism, but also in the fields of economy, trade
and investment.
VFS
Global representative presented about the potential of Indian tourism, said
that many tourists are interested in direct flights and learn about Vietnam
tourism; Believing that in the future, Vietnam tourism can fully compete with
other Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand and Singapore to become the the destination for tens of millions of Indian tourists. On this occasion, VFS also
expressed its desire to continue cooperation with the Embassy in consulting and
procedures for Indian tourists coming to Vietnam.
Vietnamese
travel and hotel companies presented the potential of Vietnam tourism, current
tours, hotel services and travel procedures, and reasonable options for each
object visitors. Companies also conduct meetings and consultations with
partners (B2B). The registration desk working between Indian travel companies
and Vietnamese partners is always full of people interested, a number of
agreements were reached between Vietnamese and Indian partners right at the
Conference.
The
businesses of the two countries highly appreciated the efforts of the
Vietnamese Embassy in India in connecting businesses, organizing this promotion
event in a large and methodical manner, creating a forum for businesses to
meet, explore opportunities, potentials and promote tourism between the two
countries.
