Bangkok Closes 26 Types of Public Places to Contain the Spread of COVID-19.
Thailand has decided to beef up public safety measure. Twenty six types of public places in Bangkok will be closed during March 22 till April 12, including exhibition and convention venues to contain the spread of the COVID-19.
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration issued an announcement today declaring the closure of 26 types of public place following confirmed 89 new coronavirus cases, the largest single day rise of cases since January, thus making it essential to strengthen social distancing among the public.
The closure, to be in place starting Sunday 22, includes exhibition and convention venues, schools and universities, sports facilities, gyms, theaters, golf courses and others. General restaurant will offer only take away service while those located inside hotel will serve for only staying guests.
Department store and shopping center are required to operate only in supermarket, drug store and other necessity sections while food shops will only offer take away.
