Fairfield by Marriott Dehradun recently installed an
electric vehicle fast charging station on its premises. Located at the base of
Mussoorie hills in Dehradun, the hotel is equidistant from Rishikesh and
Haridwar as well and is ideal for tourists traveling in their Electric Vehicles
from all of Northern India.
The station is made by Charge Zone, a company that has
partnered with Marriott International and has been installing EV charging
stations across the country. Post the pandemic, there has been an increase in
travel, especially to nearby destinations. With an increasing need to move
towards a more sustainable future, this is one of Marriott International’s many
initiatives taken towards building a greener & sustainable future.
The EV charging station had been inaugurated in the
presence of Marriott International’s Area Vice President for South Asia Mrs
Ranju Alex, Market Vice President for North India, Nepal and Bhutan Mr
Arun Kumar and General Manager Mr Shankush Mahajan.
Even though the charging station is located inside the hotel premises, it is open to the public. Owners can now charge their EVs at the station while recharging themselves at the hotel’s all-day dining multi-cuisine restaurant, Pano. The EVs can be charged using the Charge zone app which monitors the charging activity and the payments can be made using the application directly. This 60kW CCS2 dual-gun charging station can charge two electric cars simultaneously, with a DC output of 30kW per gun.
