The annual gathering
of focused MICE professionals, MICE service providers, tourism bureaus,
corporates, association buyers, and key stakeholders concluded successfully in
Delhi. The event is hosted annually by MICE Affairs Media Group. Season 5
brought together 200+ MICE professionals for 2500+ meetings and 500 Cr. worth
of business deals.
The event was themed
India: The Next MICE Hub," and the session on the same was incorporated in
association with the India Exhibition Industry Association. Key panelists for
this forum included Mr. Phil Chung (CEO, Kinexin-IICC India Operating Company),
Mr. Azam Pasha (Head (Director) Events Delivery, Jio World Convention Centre,
Mumbai), and Ms. Nidhi Sharma (Executive Director, IEIA). The session was
moderated by Mr. Sachin Manocha, Group CEO, MICE Affairs Media Group. The
panelists brainstormed on making India the next MICE hub by attracting
world-class MICE events. A lot of interesting facts were shared by the guests
on the panel. Mr. Chung presented a complete MICE scenario from India's
viewpoint in terms of presenting all the pros and cons of the situation. Mr.
Pasha shared key facilities available at the Jio World Convention Center and
how they are using technology to empower and upgrade the events. Ms. Nidhi
presented a complete study of India as the next MICE hub, the current status,
and how IEIA is supporting the cause.
The event was graced
by the presence of Sh. Subhash Goyal, Chairman, STIC Travel Group, India. Mr.
Goyal inaugurated the session by lighting a lamp and addressed the audience on
the MICE industry and its impact on the economy.
The event also witnessed the presence of corporate buyers, who discussed and deliberated on the changes in corporate MICE strategies, processes, and expectations from suppliers. The Corporate Conversation session was headed by Masters in MICE, Mr. Mukesh Jain (Joint Vice President at Havells India Ltd.) and Mr. Rohit K. Lamba (Vice President, Marketing Sales & Head Branding, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd.).
TMCEA honored the
best performers in the MICE industry through its annual awards and recognition
event (MICE BUSINESS AWARDS).
Singapore Tourism
Board was honored with the "Most Active Tourism Board-MICE Space in India
Market.
The Women Leadership Award was dedicated to the most inspiring leaders from the fields of hospitality, travel, and exhibition. And the winners included Ms. Nidhi Sharma (IEIA), Ms. Shagun Sethi (ITC Hotels), Ms. Mamta Pall (Footprints Worldwide), and Ms. Tonia Sehan (Melia International).
The special guest of the
evening, Ms. Neera Nath, a renowned fashion designer, awarded the winners after
an interaction with the audience, where she focused on sustainability and how
MICE professionals could contribute to this initiative.
The evening came to an end with closing remarks by S. Gurmeet Singh Kular, President-FICO. Mr. Kular shared his experience with respect to the MICE industry and how they are contributing to the cause.
